AP Exams: Why Take Them/Test Schedule

The process of signing up for an AP test, and paying for the test is as follows:

  1. 1) If you haven't already done so, create a College Board student account here.  Make sure you use your legal name so that it matches the name you'll be using on your college applications.  Register using your personal email NOT your school account, as you don't receive email through the school account.
  2.
  3. 2) Get the join code for your class from your AP teachers.  Each teacher and each teacher's period has a specific join code for the course AP exam.  Use the code to register for your AP exam here.  If you have a second term AP class, the earliest you can register for the exam is January 25, 2021.
  4.
  5. 3) Joining will provide you with AP resources and reviews.  It will also automatically order an AP test for you.  This year (2020-2021), there is no fee to cancel your order if you do so before March 12th, 2021.  You will need to let Mrs. Vu know if you want to cancel an order.  (avu@fusdk12.net)
  6.
  7. 4) Next, you will need to pay for the test(s) through Total Registration.  If you receive Free or Reduced lunch, or need financial assistance, you can request it in Total Registration.  It is important that you understand that you must do both by the deadline: 1. Register for the test through College Board AND 2. Pay for the test through Total Registration.
  8.      For classes held in 1st term, the deadline is October 30, 2020.
  9.      For classes held in 2nd term, the deadline is March 1, 2021.
  10. Each AP exam is $110 EXCEPT for foreign langauge tests.  The Spanish and Chinese tests are $140 each.
  11.
  12. 5) Currently, College Board is planning to have in-person testing with social distancing in place.  Because of this we are limited in space, so some students may be placed on a waitlist.  If AP testing moves to online, we will be able to accommodate everyone on the waitlist.  Register early to avoid being waitlisted.
  13.
  14. 6) Please continue to monitor updates and get additional information regarding AP testing on the District AP Website.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Vu.  (avu@fusdk12.net)
