Five FUSD Staff Named 2020 ACSA ‘Administrators of the Year’

Three principals and two directors representing the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) are among the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) list of 2020 ‘Administrators of the Year’ for Region 6.

ACSA Region 6 represents School Administrators from Alameda and Contra Costa counties. ACSA serves educational leaders in the pursuit of equity and excellence to meet the diverse needs of all California students. Region 6 has local charters that meet regularly to support administrators in our region.

Honorees from FUSD are:

  • Student Services Administrator – Greg Bailey, Director Student Support Services
  • Curriculum & Instruction Administrator – Christie Rocha, Director Federal & State Programs
  • Middle Grades Principal – Corey Brown, Hopkins Junior High School
  • Secondary School – Edward Velez, Kennedy High School
  • Elementary Principal – Judy Nye, Grimmer Elementary

“We congratulate these five outstanding individuals for their work in support of our students,” said FUSD Superintendent CJ Cammack. “Following my recent arrival at FUSD, I was immediately impressed by their commitment to education and the leadership they demonstrate with their staff. We are lucky to have them all as part of FUSD management. Thank you also to ACSA for its support of administrators across the state and advocating for public school students and staff throughout California.”
